Kedron is not an area we service from somewhere else. The depot sits at 2/21 Castle Street, a short street off Gympie Road behind the Kedron Brook corridor, and every temperature-controlled transport run we do across Brisbane begins and ends within a few hundred metres of that address. Local work is the first thing loaded and the last thing dropped.

Kedron Brook matters operationally. The brook and its parkland separate Kedron from Grange and Wilston, so the practical crossings are Shaw Road, Kitchener Road and the Gympie Road bridge. Which of those is moving at four in the afternoon decides whether a local delivery takes fifteen minutes or forty.
The trade around Kedron is small format and frequent rather than pallet-heavy: cafes and coffee roasters along Gympie Road and the Lutwyche Road strip, caterers in commercial kitchens at Windsor and Newmarket, and independent grocers, delis and butchers at Wooloowin, Stafford and Grange.
Because the quantities are small, the freight often makes more sense staged than shipped direct. Holding stock in refrigerated, ambient and dry storage at Kedron and releasing it in shop-sized drops avoids paying for a run every time one grocer needs two cartons.
Short-notice cover is a function of where the truck sleeps. For inner-north customers staging is often the cheaper structure. A producer with limited cold space can leave stock at the depot for release against orders, and a retailer expecting a large delivery can have it fed in across the week.

The same rules apply to a two-carton delivery as to a factory pallet. Food Standards Australia New Zealand states that potentially hazardous food must be at 5C or colder, or 60C or hotter, and that the limits apply during receipt, storage, display and transport. Short local runs are where that is most often forgotten.
Accreditation is separate and depends on the product. Safe Food Production Queensland sets out that accreditation is a legal requirement under the Food Production (Safety) Act 2000 for certain activities, including transporting meat, eggs, dairy, seafood or horticulture produce. A caterer moving prepared meals and a butcher moving carcase meat are not in the same position.
In practice we plan the run around the handling and temperature requirements of the freight: load temperature, time out of refrigeration at each end, and what the receiver expects at handover. To work through that, get in touch with the depot or book a run.
