Where EZ Trans runs chilled, frozen and ambient freight
EZ Trans runs refrigerated, chilled, frozen and ambient freight from its Kedron depot across eleven Brisbane industrial suburbs, six South East Queensland regions and three interstate lanes. Every area below has its own page with local routing, precinct detail and an approximate drive time from the depot.
This page is the index for every area EZ Trans services. It exists so you can find the page that matches your pickup or delivery point, rather than reading a general refrigerated transport page and guessing whether we reach you. Each area page names the estates and roads we actually work, the industries that trade there and the operational problem that area tends to have.
Everything runs from one depot at 2/21 Castle Street, Kedron QLD 4031. Distances below are approximate road distances from that depot, and the times are outside-peak estimates rather than committed transit times. Traffic on the Gateway, the Ipswich Motorway and the M1 moves those numbers more than the kilometres do.
These are the eleven Brisbane industrial and market precincts closest to the depot, grouped by the corridor a driver would actually take to get there. Same-day and short-notice work is most realistic in the northside group, simply because of distance.
Our home base off Gympie Road. Inner-north hospitality, cafes and independent grocers.
Northgate, Banyo and Nudgee food processing and bakery cluster.
Geebung, Virginia and Zillmere. Part-load and single-pallet FMCG runs.
Brendale, Strathpine and Lawnton. Beverage, brewery and FMCG distribution.
Eagle Farm, Pinkenba and Australia TradeCoast. Air freight and reefer container work.
Murarrie, Colmslie and Cannon Hill. Meat, smallgoods and hospitality distribution.
Hemmant, Lytton and the Port of Brisbane cold store precinct.
Capalaba, Cleveland, Wynnum and Manly. Seafood and independent grocer trade.
Brisbane Produce Market on Sherwood Road and the surrounding wholesale trade.
Rail-to-road reefer transfer and the Beaudesert Road manufacturing cluster.
Darra, Richlands and Sumner Park food manufacturing corridor.
Wacol and Carole Park third-party cold stores and overflow work.
Regional runs are planned as corridor work rather than out-and-back trips, because a truck that returns empty makes the freight more expensive than it needs to be. If your run sits on one of these corridors, ask about the return leg when you book.
Crestmead, Berrinba, Meadowbrook and the Yatala corridor cold store precinct.
Restaurant, cafe and venue distribution through the Yatala and Ormeau corridor.
Kunda Park, Maroochydore and Caloundra, plus grower collections southbound.
Meat, produce and dairy moving off the Downs into Brisbane and the Port.
Bundamba, Swanbank and Ebbw Vale food manufacturing estates.
Long lanes are quoted differently from metro work. The three lanes below each have their own page covering realistic transit, cut-off times, temperature logging and what actually drives the quote. Start at the interstate transport page if you are comparing options.
Next-day and two-day options via the Pacific Motorway.
Multi-day transit, driver changeover and consolidation economics.
Tropical cold chain with wet season contingency planning.
The three environments below cover most of what moves through the depot. Which one your freight belongs in is a product question rather than a transport question, so tell us what the goods are and what temperature they have to hold, and we will plan the run around that. Under the Food Standards Code, potentially hazardous food transported under temperature control has to be kept at 5C or colder, or 60C or hotter, and those limits apply during transport as well as storage.
| Environment | Typical freight | What it needs from you |
|---|---|---|
| Chilled | Fresh produce, dairy, chilled meat and smallgoods, beverages, pathology and pharmaceutical lines | The goods pre-cooled to temperature before loading, and a receiver who can take them without a long wait on the dock |
| Frozen | Frozen foods, ice cream, frozen seafood, frozen ingredient lines | Product already at its holding temperature, and door-open time kept short at every drop |
| Dry and ambient | Packaged groceries, dry goods, cartons, general palletised freight | Nothing temperature-specific, though we still plan around crush weight and stacking |
Where freight needs to sit between legs, we can hold it in refrigerated, ambient or dry storage rather than pushing it straight back onto the road, and we can pick, pack and distribute out of that storage. Medicines and healthcare lines are handled through our medical and pharmaceutical deliveries service.
Use the pickup point, not the delivery point. Most of the operational detail that matters, the access, the collection window, the estate layout and the loading method, sits at the end where the freight starts. If your pickup is not listed but sits between two areas that are, pick the nearer one and mention the exact address when you enquire.
If you would rather talk it through, our express courier and customised delivery options cover the jobs that do not fit a standard run, and the guide to choosing a logistics partner on our blog covers the questions worth asking any carrier.
Freight that needs to be dropped to us, collected from us, or staged between legs comes to 2/21 Castle Street, Kedron QLD 4031, just off Gympie Road. The directions to our Kedron depot page has turn-by-turn routes from the CBD, the airport, the Port, the Rocklea markets, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, plus access details for drivers.
Often, yes. The pages here cover the areas we work most regularly, mainly industrial and market precincts across Greater Brisbane and South East Queensland. If your pickup or delivery point is not listed, send us the address and the freight details and we will tell you honestly whether it fits a run we already do.
It depends on the collection time more than the distance. A northside pickup a few kilometres from the depot leaves room in the day for a metro delivery. A pickup at the far end of the Ipswich or Gold Coast corridor eats most of the available window, so same-day is realistic only with an early start.
Yes, and most of our work looks like that. A booking is a run rather than a suburb, so a collection at Rocklea can deliver into Brendale, or a Toowoomba collection can land at the Port. Tell us both ends and the temperature the freight has to hold when you book.
Distance is one factor among several. Pricing is quote-based and reflects freight type, both locations, the temperature requirement, quantity, timing and whether storage is involved. A longer run that backloads onto an existing corridor can cost less than a short run that needs a dedicated vehicle.
Anywhere you have predictable volume. Scheduled runs work best where a production line, market stand or cold store dispatches at a consistent time, which is why they are common in Darra, Northgate, Rocklea and Logan. A standing slot also gives you a more reliable place in the day than an on-demand booking.
If you already know which area page you need, open it for the local detail. If you would rather skip ahead, send us the pickup and delivery addresses, the freight type and the temperature it has to hold, and we will come back with a quote. You can book a run online or call the depot.
